The most reasonable appointment would be the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian cities, said Stubbs.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is limited in his options on the battlefield. Together with an experienced Russian military man, he exhausts the army, reducing the scope of targets and conducting covert mobilization.
Ian Stubbs, senior military adviser to the British delegation to Congress, said this during a speech in Vienna, Ukrinform quotes.
He noted that since February 24, the Russian army has lost most of its personnel at the front. At the same time, this does not stop the blow, and, most likely, the leadership of the Russian army has already activated most of the reservists authorized for “private mobilization”.
Stubbs believes that now the Russian Federation has several options: continue to deplete forces or announce a new wave of mobilization.
“But there is another option: Putin can end this war now, withdraw all Russian troops from the sovereign territory of Ukraine and thus stop the senseless sacrifice of thousands of other ordinary Russians,” Stubbs said.
He also stressed that Ukraine should continue to receive weapons from partners in order to liberate its territories from the invaders and prevent new seizures. In his opinion, this is the only way to peace.
“We will support the Ukrainians in their struggle for the liberation of their homeland. The sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine will be restored,” said the British representative to the OSCE.
Recall, the leader of the Russian opposition, Mikhail Khodorkovsky, said that there are three ways to develop the war unleashed by Russia, led by Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin. One of the options is that the war lasts for years with heavy losses and it is impossible to predict how it will end.
