Russia’s biggest fear is that Ukraine will not change its position and go to the end.
This was announced on the air of the national telethon by Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President’s Office. According to him, Ukraine has fixed its negotiating positions, but the Russians want to force them to change. The main thing is that any agreements will be discussed after the Russian Federation withdraws its troops from the territory of Ukraine.
“Russia is most afraid that Ukraine will reach the end: there will be no behind-the-scenes separate agreements, as was traditional for Russian foreign policy. Russia began to put pressure, something went wrong, but they pushed out what was needed, ”Podolyak explained. At present, the Russians understand that because of this war, the Russian Federation and its influence in foreign policy will be insignificant, the adviser to the head of the President’s Office believes. “That is, Russia will not be able to influence anything. And of course they don’t want that. Because we are talking not only about Ukraine, but also about the influence of the Russian Federation on conflict topics in world politics,” he said.
