Bakhmut in Donetsk region is now almost in ruins, as it was shelled by Russian artillery for several months. The ongoing struggle for the city is characterized by particular brutality, it is called a “meat grinder”, the publication writes.
The Russian military leadership paid great attention to Bakhmut, as it is located on a strategic supply line between the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. If Russia gains control of the city, it will be able to use it to attack Kramatorsk and Slavyansk.
