Poland can transfer to Ukraine a symbolic number of Leopard tanks – up to ten units. This was announced by the adviser to the President of Poland on foreign policy Jakub Kumoch on the radio ZET.

According to him, the issue of transferring the Leopard to Ukraine is being considered – he noted that we are talking about symbolic support from a few pieces to a dozen.

He noted that Polish President Andrzej Duda will hold a meeting of the National Security Bureau, which will discuss this issue.

“We need to determine what exactly our allies want to do. How many Leopards will Poland supply? Absolutely not all. To say that Poland will provide several hundred units is absurd. Poland itself will not do anything,” Kumoch said.

Poland has more than 240 German-made Leopard tanks in service with its army. The timing of the possible delivery of these tanks to Ukraine will most likely depend on when Warsaw receives the Abrams and K2 tanks from the US and South Korea. Also, to transfer the Leopard to Ukraine, permission from the government of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is required, since Germany is the manufacturing country.
