German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is likely ready to supply Ukraine with Leopard 2 tanks, but on the condition that the United States also supply Abrams battle tanks, the German publication Süddeutsche Zeitung wrote about this on January 18.
The publication writes that Scholz said this in a telephone conversation with US President Joe Biden. It is noted that Biden, most likely, did not undertake such obligations during this conversation.
Scholz has always stressed that Germany will not act alone in the matter of military support for Ukraine, the newspaper recalls.
