The decision to transfer the Leopard tanks at the meeting of the Contact Group for the Defense Support of Ukraine (in the Ramstein format) was not made.

“During the meeting, we spoke with a group of 15 countries that use Leopard tanks. We want to create a coalition of countries to equip Ukraine with these tanks. No decisions have been made, we have further meetings planned,” said Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak.

However, he said that there is still hope for the supply of Leopard battle tanks to Ukraine in the future.

“I think so. Defense ministers from 15 countries met. Pistorius said that he was the minister (of German defense – Ed.) for the second day, so he could not draw any conclusions yet. But I am convinced that building this coalition will be successful,” he said.

Foreign journalists note that at the meeting of the Contact Group for Defense Support of Ukraine from 50 countries, attention was focused on Germany, because it depended on the consent of the German leadership whether Ukraine would receive Leopard tanks.
