On Friday, February 3, a Ukraine-EU summit will be held in Kyiv, at which Ukraine’s intermediate efforts for European integration will be assessed.

It is reported by Suspilne.

The day before, the leaders of the European Union headed by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen arrived in the Ukrainian capital. The delegation also included 15 European Commissioners.

According to Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, the government expects EU representatives at the summit to give an interim assessment of Ukraine’s European integration efforts.

The Office of the President of Ukraine reported on the eve that during the Ukraine-EU summit political issues, in particular the “peace formula”, as well as military cooperation, will be discussed, first of all.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on the eve of the evening address said:

“I believe that Ukraine deserves to approach the opening of EU membership negotiations this year.”

The previous 23rd EU-Ukraine Summit was held in October 2021 in Kyiv.
