Martial law has been extended in Ukraine for another 90 days. The corresponding decision at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada was supported by 348 people’s deputies.

Thus, the parliament approved the presidential decree on the extension of martial law.

As you know, martial law has been extended from February 19, 2023 for another 90 days. That is, it will be valid until May 20, 2023.

At the same time, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak recalled that this is the sixth vote of the Verkhovna Rada for martial law since the beginning of the war. For the first time, martial law in Ukraine was introduced on the day of the full-scale invasion of Russia – 24 February. After that, the Verkhovna Rada extended martial law on March 15, April 21, August 15 and November 16.

The vote to extend martial law for another 90 days took place after President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted a bill to the Verkhovna Rada. This happened on Monday, February 6th.
