Russian troops in Ukraine are currently unable to conduct land-grabbing operations, but the accumulation of occupying troops will end no earlier than May.

It is reported by CNN.

“It is unlikely that the Russian forces will be particularly better organized, so they are unlikely to achieve much success, although they seem ready to send more troops to the meat grinder,” journalists quoted a senior British official as saying.

According to US military estimates, the Russian military will need time until May to restore forces sufficient for a sustained offensive. However, the Russian leadership wants to act as quickly as possible, although the West currently does not believe that the Russian Federation is capable of capturing new territories with existing forces.

A senior US military official believes pressure from the Kremlin will force the Russians to launch an offensive before their military is ready.

“They have accumulated enough strength to take one or two small towns in the Donbass, that’s all… Not impressive compared to the sense of panic they were trying to create in Ukraine,” said a senior Ukrainian diplomat.
